Understanding Undergraduate Program Paths
While you apply to the exploratory pre-medicine and health major, you’ll earn a degree in the program of your choice. Through exploratory studies, a unique course schedule will be created based on your interests, including the university’s core courses, with up to two terms to declare your major. Most students who begin their Purdue career in exploratory studies maintain a four-year graduation track.
Exploratory pre-medicine and health is designed for students who have a clear interest in medicine or health care but want additional time to determine which Purdue major best supports their goals. As part of exploratory studies, you’ll receive personalized advising and support to explore degree options, complete foundational coursework and develop a plan for selecting a major, while also gaining experience through health care, research and professional opportunities in Indianapolis that prepare you for future study and careers in medicine and health.

Transfer to Exploratory Pre-medicine and Health
Purdue admits to individual majors. Transfer students must meet Purdue’s overall transfer criteria, as well as any major-specific requirements, including a minimum GPA of 2.5. Before you apply, check the closed programs page to confirm this major is open to transfer students.
