Techies Today: Jim Tanoos

Jim Tanoos, Purdue professor

Jim Tanoos, clinical associate professor at Purdue Polytechnic Vincennes, teaches supply chain management, with emphasis on globalization and leadership. In addition to learning how his career progressed from an internship involving work at Minnesota Twins games in concession stands (an important part of the supply chain for fans, he says) to various teaching positions and master's and doctoral degrees, Jim helps us understand the basics of supply chain management and why going on a study abroad trip to Germany, Czech Republic and the Netherlands provides students with unique insight into this increasingly global field of study. The trip to Europe provides key lessons in culture, history and economics, which Jim says are essential parts of supply chain management.
