Spanish
Purdue University in West Lafayette
Spanish majors enroll in engaging courses in language, literature, and linguistics. Majors are encouraged to incorporate study abroad into their plan of study, whether students are abroad for a week, semester, or academic year. A minor is also offered in Portuguese, which allows students the opportunity to combine Portuguese with their study of Spanish in interesting ways. Spanish faculty have outstanding credentials and show a strong commitment to both their research and teaching.
All liberal arts majors prepare students with the skills identified as contributing to managerial success: communicating and listening well, possessing insights into others, creative/critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to make connections across complex ideas.
