College Board Advanced Placement Credit
The College Board Advanced Placement (AP) program allows you to establish college credit from tests taken at the completion of high school AP courses. The sections below provide information about AP courses Purdue accepts and the scores necessary to earn credit.
To receive credit from AP exam results, you must request your official scores be sent electronically directly from College Board to Purdue University (code 1631).
For descriptions and credit hours of the specific Purdue courses listed in the table below, refer to Purdue’s course catalog.
AP transfer credit criteria are subject to change without notice.
*If you score a 3 or better on both the Macroeconomics and Microeconomics exams you will receive credit for ECON 21000. If you score a three on one and a four or five on the other, you will receive credit for ECON 21000 and credit for the appropriate ECON course as indicated above.
Understanding Undistributed Credit
- Courses listed as “1XXXX” transfer as undistributed credit, meaning Purdue does not have a direct course equivalent or the minimum grade requirement for course equivalency has not been met.
- Undistributed credit appears on your Purdue student record as credit hours within the respective subject area.
- Following admission, consult with your Purdue academic advisor to determine how undistributed credit may be best used to meet curriculum requirements within your degree plan.
