Plan Your West Lafayette Visit
Key Information
- West Lafayette group visits are offered most Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET in the fall and spring.
- Visits begin in Stewart Center at the Boilermaker Station Welcome Center.
- This visit includes a 30-minute admissions presentation followed by a 90-minute walking tour. Food is not permitted in the presentation room. Additional suggested activities are listed below and can be scheduled separately using the contact information provided.
- Please note that lunch is not provided as part of the visit.
- Your group should include at least 15 and no more than a total of 90 students.
- Plan to include at least one adult chaperone for every 15 students.
Lunch
- We recommend scheduling lunch and any other activities after 12:30 p.m. to ensure your visit stays on schedule.
- If your group would like to schedule lunch at one of our student dining courts, contact Purdue Dining & Culinary for costs and availability: dining-reservations@purdue.edu.
Other Considerations
- Tours involve a significant amount of walking. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for weather conditions such as rain or snow. Umbrellas are encouraged.
- We’re unable to show student rooms in University Residences or lectures halls on our group tours. For a tour of University Residences and to learn about the benefits of living on campus, contact URguestcenter@purdue.edu or call 765-496-0278.
- We cannot accommodate pets during group visits. Service animals are exempt from this restriction. To learn more, please review our operating procedures for service animals on campus.
On the Day of Your Visit

- West Lafayette is on Eastern Time, and we observe daylight saving time.
Late Arrivals
- If you’re running late, call 765-494-1776 as soon as possible so we can try to adjust your visit itinerary.
- A late arrival may result in the cancelation of the tour and/or the presentation.
- Groups arriving 15 minutes late will miss the admissions presentation.
- Groups arriving more than 30 minutes late are not guaranteed a tour. Current students guide our tours, and their schedules are set in advance.
- Visits will be automatically canceled for groups arriving 45 minutes late or later.
Visit Etiquette
- Encourage your students to make the most of their Purdue experience by asking questions.
