Indiana Resident Admissions

Beginning with spring 2026 high school graduates, students earning the Enrollment Honors Plus Seal will be eligible for Indiana Resident Admissions to Purdue University West Lafayette or Purdue University in Indianapolis. Students must apply to one of these locations with a complete application, including an SAT or ACT test score, by Nov. 1 of their senior year.

  • There is not a separate application for Purdue University West Lafayette or Purdue University in Indianapolis. When students select Purdue University via the Common App, the opportunity to apply to either or both locations is embedded in the process. Students will select a primary location, West Lafayette or Indianapolis, as well as their primary major. They will also have the option to select an alternate location and major on the application.
  • Not all majors will be available at both locations, and students should select an alternate choice only if they are truly interested in the program. Changing majors or locations is never guaranteed; some programs can be very competitive. Prospective students can expect the same admissions standards for both locations.
  • Purdue University is test expected, meaning we expect applicants to submit SAT or ACT scores. Recognizing that in some exceptional cases, applicants may not have been able to take a test, we allow submission of applications in those cases via the Common App. In 2024, 76.3% of applicants submitted a test score. Of those who received an offer of admission, 92.9% provided a test score. Please encourage your students to submit their scores!
  • Duolingo will be counted for English proficiency: Purdue accepts the Duolingo English Proficiency test as proof of English proficiency. The submission of DET subscores along with the overall result must be submitted to Purdue University Undergraduate Admissions.
