First-Generation College Celebration Week

November 2-6, 2026

You belong here, and so does your story. Join us as we celebrate first-generation students and the alumni, faculty, staff and families who support their journey.

Why We Celebrate

Each year, Purdue recognizes the experiences, contributions and accomplishments of our first-generation community. This week is for the students charting new paths, the alumni who paved the way, the faculty and staff who lead by example and the families who cheer them on.

Whether you’re a first-generation student or someone who supports one, there’s a place for you. Attend an event, meet new people, share your story and celebrate what first-generation Boilermakers achieve every day.

First-Generation College Celebration Week is hosted by First-Generation Student Services, part of Purdue’s Boilermaker Opportunity Program Plus.

Ways to Participate

Show your first-gen pride all week long.

  • Attend an event: Find one that fits your schedule Monday, Nov. 2 – Friday, Nov. 6.
