How to prepare for college
Plan to visit Purdue in person, if you can, or participate in a virtual visit to learn more and have a chance to ask questions. Check out our YouTube playlist to familiarize yourself with the sights and sounds at our West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations.
Why Purdue?
Follow your dream and never give up! As one of the top public institutions in the nation and around the world, it’s highly competitive to become a Boilermaker. If you’re unable to gain admission as a beginner, there may be opportunities to apply to Purdue University later on as a transfer student. After completing 12 credit hours at another institution, you’ll be eligible to apply to transfer to Purdue. Be sure to check our Closed Programs list as not all majors at Purdue accept transfer applications.
Prepare for your transfer application by getting the necessary information from our Transfer Student Checklist. In addition, we have other tools in place to ensure a smooth transfer process for you. Check out the Transfer Credit Course Equivalency Guide and use this tool along with the plan of study for your major of choice to help you assess how previous college credit may apply to your desired Purdue major. Remember, we’re here as a resource for you to help you prepare to become a Boilermaker!
