Best advice going into college
Don’t get senioritis. It’s a tempting trap, but here’s the deal — high school prepares you for college. Success in demanding courses simultaneously prepares you for college-level course work and shows your aptitude and merit as a prospective student for any given university. There’s nothing worse than your admissions offer being rescinded because you blew off classes and got poor grades. So, keep your drive. Hold yourself accountable during your last semesters as a high school student because you’ll be the only one doing just that throughout your college career.
Favorite campus spot
Memorial Mall — the largest green space on campus — is full of surprises. From a farmers market and career fairs to a life-size statue of the university’s namesake, John Purdue, it’s home to many campus traditions and events. One of my favorites is the Hello Walk, where you’re encouraged to wave and say hello to everyone you pass.
