Tips for applying
We appreciate that home-schooled students’ transcripts may appear different from traditional schools, but regardless of format, our first-year criteria are the same for home-schooled and traditional students. It’s important to note that standardized test scores are expected with all applications. You can self-report test scores on your application, but if you accept your offer of admission, you may be asked to provide official scores directly from the testing agency to Purdue (school codes: ACT-1230, SAT-1631).
Although parents/relatives are often a home-schooled student’s teachers/counselors, we encourage references to be submitted by non-family members such as coaches, employers or college professors.
While letters of recommendations are not required for an application to be considered complete, they’re highly encouraged.
Favorite campus spot
My favorite spot on the West Lafayette campus is Armstrong Hall of Engineering. I grew up staring at the sky and everything in it, so on my first day at Purdue, I went looking for the campus moon rock and the other air and space models inside Armstrong. Finding my interests on campus helped me feel at home here.
