Best advice going into college
Don’t be afraid to change your major! College is a time of growth and self-discovery. As you find new interests or passion areas, don’t be afraid of pursuing them. If you realize that your major isn’t the right fit for you, that’s okay! About 80% of college students change their major at some point during their college career, and at Purdue about 50% of students do. It’s more common than you might think. Study what interests and fulfills you, even if that means adjusting your plan of study. As soon as you realize your current major isn’t the right fit, talk with your academic advisor so they can help you explore options that align with your interests and passion. I changed my major during the first semester.
Why Purdue?
Purdue was one of three colleges I visited, and it was the only place where I felt people truly cared about me, as a person. You’ll never feel like just a number on this very welcoming campus.
