In addition, the math curriculum is flexible enough that students can take classes in other interest areas or pursue double major or a minor without too much difficulty.  Math specializations include:

  • Applied mathematics
  • Business mathematics
  • Mathematics
  • Mathematics teaching
  • Mathematics with computer sciences option
  • Mathematics with statistics option
  • Operations research

Careers:

Many math graduates choose to continue their education in professional schools such as law, business, or medical schools. Others choose to teach. Others pursue graduate school in mathematics, engineering, computational finance, and other areas. Job options include positions such as database managers, programming, actuarial work, software engineering, military work, insurance, banking, and finance.
