Computer and information technology (CIT) is an applied program in which students learn by doing. Students apply the knowledge gained in the classroom to assignments completed in state-of-the-art laboratories, which include: dedicated computer forensics (instructional and research), high performance computing, indoor and outdoor wireless, LAN and WAN, mobile applications development, network security, steganography/malware, telemedicine/telecare, and wet biomedical informatics. CIT courses provide students with strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of business needs, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and industry leaders. Students can choose to specialize in information systems technology (IST) or networking engineering technology (NET). The CIT curriculum is continually updated to reflect current and future needs of industry. CIT is guided by a diverse Industrial Advisory Board.
This program is also offered at the Purdue College of Technology statewide locations in Anderson, Columbus, and Kokomo.
