Career Preparation

Purdue Graduate Success

Purdue graduates enjoy a high degree of success as they transition from their undergraduate education to careers or graduate study. Most years, well over 90% of new graduates report success in finding jobs, continuing their education, or pursuing other plans (such as the Peace Corps or Teach for America) within six months of graduation. Even during the current recession, 88% of new graduates report success with their post-grad plans.

Each year, Purdue's Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) surveys May graduates to collect data on success rates and average starting salaries. CCO provides this information online.

Professional Practice

Many Purdue students pursue internships or cooperative education programs to gain work experience as part of their education. Information about some of the companies that hire Purdue interns or co-op students and average co-op salaries is available on the Office of Professional Practice website. In addition, CCO maintains a web page with information to help students find internships. website.

Who Hires Purdue Grads

CCO also maintains a comprehensive list of companies that hire Purdue graduates. The list is available online.
